TL;DR: Apple introduced HomeView, a $299 smart display with Siri AI, on Oct. 13 with sales starting Nov. 13.
Apple introduced Apple HomeView on Oct. 13, 2026, in Cupertino, California, as a home hub for entertainment, communication and smart-home control, according to Apple. The device pairs a 7-inch Liquid Retina display with voice control, face recognition for personalization and Siri AI powered by Apple Intelligence. Pre-orders started the same day, with availability beginning Nov. 13. Both the tabletop and wall-mounted versions cost $299, MacRumors reported.
What Apple announced
The announcement centers on one product line with two hardware forms. The tabletop HomeView places the display on a domed speaker base joined by a stainless steel hinge that tilts for viewing at different table heights, according to Apple. The company positions it for a kitchen counter, nightstand or side table.
A separate wall-mounted HomeView uses the same 7-inch Liquid Retina display and feature set, according to Apple. It attaches with purpose-built hardware from Schneider Home, with options for self-installation or professional installation.
Apple senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing Greg Joswiak said the product is intended to be shared across a household while adapting to each person:
Apple HomeView is designed to be shared by everyone in the home yet feel completely personal to each user.
The tabletop model comes in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray, each with a matching cable, according to Apple. The wall version comes in space gray and silver. The Mac Observer reported that both models use USB-C cabling on the tabletop version and separate wall-mount power options for the wall version.
Price, pre-orders and availability
HomeView costs $299 for the tabletop model and $299 for the wall-mounted model, MacRumors reported. Pre-orders opened Oct. 13. Apple said availability begins Nov. 13.
The Mac Observer reported that pre-orders opened in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and India, and that both models arrive Nov. 13. MacRumors reported that the product is not available in the EU.
Schneider Home wall mounts are priced separately. The Mac Observer listed a Power Mount USB-C Wall Connector from $59.95, a Power Mount AC Wired version from $79.95, both orderable from Oct. 13, and a Power Mount PoE Wired version at $129.95 expected in early 2027.
Design and display
HomeView uses an aluminum design with True Tone adaptive display technology that responds to changing light during the day, according to Apple. Automatic brightness ranges from 500 nits for visibility in a sunlit room down to 0.3 nits for nightstand use.
The interface changes with viewing distance. It shows simpler information readable from across a room and richer detail as a person moves closer, according to Apple. MacRumors reported the same distance-based behavior as part of the device’s glanceable faces.
The tabletop hinge is designed for comfortable viewing on tables of different heights. The wall-mounted version extends placement to areas such as an entryway or hallway, according to Apple.
Personalization for up to six people
HomeView recognizes up to six people by face and provides each person with a personalized Home Screen with apps and widgets, according to Apple. Personal content from Messages, FaceTime, Calendar, Reminders and Find My becomes available when the enrolled user is recognized.
Shared photo albums and music can be enjoyed by everyone in a household, including guests, while individual content stays private from other users, according to Apple. The Mac Observer reported that personal content appears only when the enrolled user is recognized by face and the paired iPhone or iPad is present and recently unlocked.
Users receive separate personalized setups rather than sharing one profile. MacRumors reported that each user has an individual Home Screen and that Apple describes personal content as remaining private.
Siri AI and Apple Intelligence
HomeView features Siri AI, described by Apple as an entirely new version of Siri powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence and advanced Apple silicon. Apple said Siri AI is more capable and conversational, with broad world knowledge for richer music discovery and onscreen awareness.
Anyone in the home can ask Siri AI about general topics and receive answers. When paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, Siri AI can draw on personal context from Calendar, Messages and relevant information across apps to provide more helpful responses, according to Apple. It can also take action across apps and surface playlists on Apple Music.
The Mac Observer reported that Siri AI is available in beta in HomeView software version 27.2. Personal-context requests require a paired Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad on the latest software with Siri AI turned on. Server-side features have daily usage limits, and Apple said expanded access will be available for a fee in the future.
Conversations can continue in the Siri app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch or Apple Vision Pro, The Mac Observer reported. Users can customize the expressiveness and pace of Siri’s voice on a paired compatible device, MacRumors reported. Customizable expressive voices require iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro models, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro models, or iPad models with the M4 chip or later with at least 12GB of unified memory.
Siri AI on HomeView works in English in the U.S., Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the U.K., The Mac Observer reported. Canadian French support will follow in a free software update.
Audio, video and faces
The tabletop model uses a custom-engineered acoustic system with two full-range drivers, a down-firing woofer and two force-cancelling passive radiators built into the base, MacRumors reported. It delivers room-filling Spatial Audio. Handoff lets users continue iPhone audio by placing the phone in front of HomeView, and the device supports multiroom audio.
The wall-mounted version delivers sound through two custom drivers with computational audio tuned for on-wall placement, MacRumors reported.
For video and communication, HomeView offers FaceTime with Center Stage and Intercom for sending messages within a household, MacRumors reported. It plays Apple Music with animated album art and lyrics, plus Apple Podcasts, Apple TV and compatible third-party audio and video apps, The Mac Observer reported. Apple News on HomeView is limited to Australia, Canada, the U.K. and the U.S., and some apps need a paired iPhone nearby.
Faces include Photos, which turns shared albums into a photo frame, Flow, Snoopy, Home Modular and Home Camera, according to MacRumors and Apple. Home Modular provides access to smart-home accessories. Home Camera can livestream up to nine video feeds at once.
Apple also described HomeView as a kitchen assistant. MacRumors reported that the device can convert web recipes into step-by-step instructions with hands-free timer controls and ingredient tracking.
Smart-home control and cameras
HomeView controls lights, locks, thermostats and cameras by touch or by voice through Siri AI, according to Apple and The Mac Observer. It works with Matter accessories and acts as a home hub. The Home Modular face shows favorite accessories, while the Home Camera face streams multiple camera feeds.
With a supported iCloud+ subscription and compatible cameras, HomeView provides end-to-end encrypted recognition of people, familiar faces, pets, packages and vehicles, and alerts the household when someone arrives at the front door, The Mac Observer reported. Video summaries and natural-language search for HomeKit Secure Video require setup with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad and an eligible iCloud+ plan. The number of supported cameras depends on the plan.
Apple said every accessory in Apple Home is designed for privacy with Home app data encrypted end-to-end. The Mac Observer reported that the HomeView chip is the A18 with Secure Exclaves for camera and microphone data.
What to watch before Nov. 13
The confirmed timetable is pre-orders from Oct. 13 and first availability Nov. 13 for both HomeView forms, according to Apple and The Mac Observer. The remaining separate purchase is the Schneider Home mount for wall installations, with two power-mount options available at launch and a PoE wired mount expected in early 2027.
Buyers choosing between forms face the same $299 device price but different placement requirements. Tabletop buyers select among four colors. Wall-mount buyers select between two colors and add installation hardware. Language availability at launch is English in eight listed countries and regions, with Canadian French planned later through software.
